My mom's kitchen was the place where it all began. The kitchen was the place where everyone was welcome.
The aroma of Haitian spices filled the air. Family gathered around the table. Stories were shared, laughter echoed through the room, and for a moment, everything felt right.
Hi all, I am sharing a part of my beautiful Haitian mother who had a gift.
My mother's gift was, she could walk into a kitchen with a handful of simple ingredients and somehow turn them into something unforgettable. Her food was more than a meal—it was comfort, family, laughter, and love served one plate at a time.
She cooked with her heart. There were no measuring cups beside her. A little of this, a pinch of that, a taste, a stir, and somehow she always knew when it was just right. Her recipes lived in her hands, passed down through tradition, memory, and years of feeding the people she loved.
My mom's food carried something special—the warmth of Haiti, the strength of its people, and the richness of a culture that knows how to turn humble ingredients into something extraordinary.
Today, I carry the torch for my mom, by sharing her recipes forward. Because she can no longer due to Dementia.
What began in her kitchen, prepared with love for family and friends, is now being brought to the world. We are preserving her flavors, honoring her memory, and sharing the traditions she poured into every dish.
Because a great recipe is never just a recipe.
It is a memory.
It is a story.
It is a piece of home.
And although she may no longer be standing in the kitchen, every time one of her dishes is prepared, her love lives on.
From her hands to our hearts, and now from our hearts to your table—
